Just wanted to remind everyone that one week from this Saturday is the EDC Summer Volunteer Appreciation BBQ! Woo-hoo! We'll be kicking off the BBQ at Noon on Saturday July 19th, and we've got a picnic area at Lindley Meadow in Golden Gate Park reserved. We have the space reserved until 5 so it there's not really an ending time, just whenever people decide to pack up. We'll have tons of food and park games and drinks and festivities, so you should all come and enjoy a wonderful summer day in the park! And please feel free to invite a friend or two, as well.
Here's a map to facilitate directions. I know it's kind of far out for those of us who live on the other side of town. There is public transportation that heads out there, but if you think that may hinder you from attending please let David know and we can try and organize pick-ups and carpools (in which case send David your address, too).

EDC Volunteer Appreciation Happy Hour(s) — Spring 2008

This event was in appreciation of all our volunteers' hard work and strong commitment to tenants' rights in San Francisco , without which the EDC would be unable to serve our clients to such an extent. We had some food and drinks here at the EDC office and it gave all the volunteers, staff, board members, etc. a nice chance to get together and discuss things besides evictions (if we all so chose). The party started at 5:30pm and went until after 7:30.

The EDC's Silent Auction will feature over 50 items for bidding. The Auction is the EDC's primary fundraising event, as well as an occasion for supporters to learn about service developments and meet other donors, staff, volunteers and board members. The $20 admission price includes food, wine and other beverages.
