When can the EDC help?

If you have received any of the following papers you should bring them to the EDC immediately to get help:

Please click here for more information on legal services.

If you are behind in your rent or have received a NOTICE TO PAY RENT OR QUIT from your landlord, you may qualify for a zero-interest loan or grant from our Rental Assistance Disbursement Component called RADCo.

Please click here to see if you might qualify for this program.

If you have received a different type of NOTICE from your landlord, such as a NOTICE TO DEFENDANTS from the San Francisco Superior Court telling you that an eviction case has been filed against you, you may come to our office for information. However, we may not be able to prepare any paperwork for you at this point. You can also contact one of the tenant organizations in our resources section for information.

What do I do if I need help?

  1. If you have received eviction papers and want legal help you must come to our drop-in clinic.
  2. If you are seeking help paying back rent, you have a NOTICE to PAY or QUIT, and you think you qualify, come to our office during drop-in hours. If you do not have a notice, please call (415) 947-0797 and press 301 to leave a message requesting an appointment. We will call you back as soon as possible.
